Top Adwords Mistakes Made in Australian Business

Filed under: General — admin @ 6:12 pm

After Setting up many successful adwords campaigns for Australian businesses, I have noticed these common Adwords mistakes:

1). Not enough keywords. Too many people have less than 100 keywords. I have built huge lists out using free software as this: Or even better software here. Give your ad a chance.

2). Not using [exact match] or “phrase match” here is a free tool to use with your new keyword lists. Most people have the keyword without wrapping.

3). People use only 1 ad. You have to write at least 2 ads, so you can constantly dump the worst performing one. You need to measure what is going on. Split testing is a major key for success. You need to rewrite every ad once a day.

4). Daily budgets are too low. Rarely does your daily budget hit maximum level. So by increasing it you will appear more daily.

5). Not enough keywords in the ads themselves. Many business owners only have the major keywords in the headline, and many more do not even have the major keyword headline. This is a major mistake.

6). Lack of understanding of impressions. Impressions are the amount of times that people are searching the internet per keyword. Click on the impression on the top, look at all time history and find out which keywords are searched the most. Then make sure those keywords appear through the ads.

7). Not using popular impressions for 1 campaign. Say you find that the keyword “making money” is popular (it is). Make a new campaign just for that one keyword. With exact match [make money]. That’s it. 1 keyword in the campaign.

8) Having too different many keywords in 1 campaign. You should have one base keyword per group. Wealth keywords being in one group for example, make money keywords in another group.

Then delete it out of your big list campaign. You will know exactly what you will have to bid to be on top spot per campaign. I always drop it down so I am not paying top dollar.

Then you can repeat for the top 20 words. Make sure you put the keyword in each ad, and have at least 2 ads per campaign.

9). Not using excitement in their ads.. fast.. amazing tips.. secrets.. inside information.. fast track..

10) People are using exact amounts in their clicks. Most people did at 10 cents, 20, 30 , 40, $1.00. Try increasing to 0.11, 0.21, 0.32.. You get the idea. 1 or 2 cents extra puts you higher than the guy stuck on the exact amount.

11). Not capitalising their display URL. Have a look what’s stronger.. www.australianonlineseo.com or www.AustralianOnlineSeo.com Your eye gets drawn to the one with the most capital letter. Just a note only use caps for the start of each word.

12) Do it themselves. One of the most deadly mistakes is that many Australian businesses do their own Adwords. They burn a lot of cash and most often the campaigns simply are not effective. They must seek Adwords management from a team that has runs on the board. That way, the business can concentrate on what they do best.

What Is the Difference between Search Engine Marketing and Search Engine Optimization?

Filed under: General — admin @ 10:07 am

I took it for granted that people implicitly understood the difference between Search Engine Marketing and Search Engine Optimization. However, I had to change my thinking when, in a meeting, I got asked this very question; what’s the difference?

In my view the root of the answer lies in the early days of the Search Engines. We did not have the Google AdWords and AdSense or the MSN AdCenter or Overture. What we had were Search Engines and the art of making it to the top of the pile was a very technical one, hence the phrase Search Engine Optimization.

Search Engine Optimization by definition is therefore a mostly technical skill which revolves around ensuring that what we code, how we code, ensures that our site appears as high on the search rankings as possible for our given keyword or key phrases.

The landscape changed quite dramatically with the introduction of paid advertising. With products like Adsense and AdWords we now enter the realm of Search Engine Marketing. Advertisers now have the ability to drive their visibility on the search engines right to the top of page one on Google, simply by bidding for their respective keyword.

Search Engine Marketing by definition is therefore no longer a technical skill, but now has all the aspects of marketing a product or service. You are faced with the same questions as you would be if you were marketing in the physical world. Factors like brand, price, positioning and unique selling point become much more important.

A business who wishes to establish an online presence would be silly to ignore the basic fundamentals of Search Optimization even if they have the budget to drive traffic to their site through Search Marketing. My recommendation to any company who are going to create a web presence and intend selling a product is that you need both.

The other question we need to answer is whether the two are mutually exclusive, inclusive or is there some overlap? There is a definite overlap between the two and the easiest way to look at this is the “keyword” link. In classic Search Optimization one would optimize based on selected keywords which one wants to rank for. Often use would be made of tools such as Keyword Density Analyzers to determine what percentage of total text does a specific keyword or phrase take up.

In Search Marketing we still focus heavily on keywords, since we need to bid for those same keywords in terms of our online advertising. In fact the entire keyword scenario moves up a gear as we try to uncover a broader base of keywords that will bring in targeted traffic at a reduced cost per click. The key to Search Marketing becomes exploiting the “long tail of search”, which refers to the larger selection of less frequently searched terms.

How Companion Marketing Can Make Money Online

Filed under: General — admin @ 2:03 am

Companion marketing can make money online for you. All you need is to stretch your creative wings. The trick to companion marketing is trying to look at the big picture. By all means you need to focus your efforts on advertising in places that are directly related to your product or service. However, don’t stop there! You can make money online by advertising tag along or side services.

Think about a few of the things a new gardener would need: tools, seeds, top soil, fertilizer and plant food, pest control, watering tips, planting tips and even gardening clothing. Anyone who is interested in growing great tomatoes might be interested in knowing that companion planting lemon basil will enrich the taste of their tomatoes and possibly protect the tomatoes from some pests.

Companion planting and companion advertising work the same way. They are not the same thing but they work together for the same end. That end is, of course, helping you make money online. It is in your perspective at least. The tomatoes probably don’t care if you make money online or not.

Seriously, do not limit your creative juices just to your product or service. Chances are you have put a lot of thought into what you are offering and it will sell itself. However, if you want to “make money online” and really make money online to support your family then you need to be even more creative with your marketing.

There is one cardinal rule about advertising, know your audience. When you are placing the ads for your business, are you placing them in appropriate places? Are you trying to sell necklaces where people are talking about camping? That is not going to make much money online for you. You need to place your ads in appropriate places.

However, what constitutes an appropriate place may surprise you. If you are selling jewelry to women, you may find that ads places on other beauty sites like cosmetics or nail care can make money online. If you are selling information about workshop tips and tricks, the obvious choice would be to go to places where people are talking about woodworking but what about places where people talk about exotic wood or the fine points of particular tools? If you are offering home decorating tips, a place that works with home organization might be very lucrative. Home office ergonomics might offer a great place to offer home office organization services. Tips on growing organic vegetables would make money online with Vegans, vegetarians and environmentally friendly groups. Products associated with fashion can cross-sell with jewelry, hair trends, nail care and other personal care places.

Before You Can Conquer The World You First Have To Secure Your Own Backyard

Filed under: General — admin @ 6:01 pm

These are exciting times for small businesses. The rush is on to find the best way of using the web to propel your product to a larger audience and reach the global marketplace. But before you start dreaming of exotic holidays and fast cars you should first ensure you are already covering your own backyard. After all, The Beatles would never have cracked America if they had failed to sell any records back home.

Business models are changing fast. But you should never underestimate the importance of reaching your local consumers. The fact is that the majority of businesses conduct most of their trade within a 50 mile radius. Ensuring that people in your vicinity can find you as easily as possible is crucial.

The latest research from the US suggests that more and more people are searching for, and finding, local businesses and services online. Global exposure can still be your long-term goal and dream. But reaching local consumers should be your priority - and is a lot easier to achieve.

Research by Comscore networks showed that in the US 63% of interviewed net users conducted a local search in July 2006 compared to only 43% the previous year. These searches were for local restaurants, entertainment and businesses. The most promising stat is that this in turn led to 41% making contact online.

The Yellow Pages is now being left to gather dust in a cupboard, whilst the days of ringing costly directory enquiry lines might be coming to an end. The Internet is a resource for information and is increasingly the medium on which people will find your business.

Developing your web presence so that the search engines push you onto peopleâ??s screens has never been easier. And it doesnâ??t have to cost you an arm and a leg via a short term pay-per-click ad campaign. PPC is fine if you know your conversion percentage. But for smaller businesses, just looking to capture more targeted visitors in your local area, itâ??s probably not the most cost effective solution.

Posting to your blog once a week with relevant material will not only develop the sales process but will â?˜organicallyâ?? optimise your website for search. Depending on the competitiveness of your keywords, you could be hitting the top of Google and Yahoo for local search terms in less than two months.

The advantage we have in the UK is that business blogging is still in its infancy. This is largely due to lack of awareness and reluctance to invest time and money in a new marketing technique with no obvious, immediate ROI. This simply means that the early adopters will find it easier to push their website to the top of their local search terms - and capture the most targeted traffic as a result.

Research by Fasthosts (a web hosting company) revealed that although half of UK SME businesses think they should be blogging only 3% actually plan to start. When you consider the growing importance of local search ensuring your website is as easy to find a possible should be regarded as business critical.

Marketing is no longer simply a case of carpet bombing your area with leaflets and placing an ad in the local paper. Maximising the optimisation of your web presence for search is essential for reaching an increasingly web savvy population.

I started this year as a web copywriter and then swiftly jumped on the blogging bandwagon when I saw what direction the Internet was heading in. I write standard web copy, but now also promote the use of blogs to UK businesses for marketing products and services.

“Passport To Wealth” Mentors What Every Entrepreneur Needs To Know About SEO Classes

Filed under: General — admin @ 9:56 am

If you an entrepreneur and are involved at all into network marketing then you have heard of search engine optimization. All over the Internet their are SEO classes teaching techniques to solving the puzzle of Google, Yahoo and MSN. As an entrepreneur, you understand the magnitude of having your website advertised on the first page of search engines. It can mean a flood of targeted customers coming to your site. Certainly that means more profit for you right. Absolutely, but only if you set up your campaign correctly at the beginning.

There are mentoring teams out there sharing SEO tactics and holding SEO classes. The first thing you should remember when joining one of these classes is commitment and consistency. Commit yourself at the beginning to sticking to the program. If someone tells you when setting up your search engine optimization campaign that it is easy and there is no work is crazy and not true. You have to commit yourself into this for the long haul because there will always be work and up keep to your campaign even after you have hit the first page. Do not live in the fantasy that this SEO will run itself and their is no work to you. According to Passport to Wealth back office over 65% of people taking SEO classes will not finish the class because of the work entailed. Now if you are paying someone to do the search engine optimization for you, then obviously this doesn’t apply to you, the company or service you paid will do it for you. But if you are looking at mentors to teach you how to build your business then commit to the work and SEO classes, don’t go in with false pretenses.

SEO is not something we can explain in one article. But it all starts with your website and design. Here is a list of ways to set up your website properly for optimal web site inclusion with search engines.

1.) Pick your keywords first - You should start with at list of at least 30 keywords to utilize. Go off the top of your head and think about your business your customers and what would they be searching to find your business. Always in the keywords you should include your business name. Once your keywords are established use a software tool like that is free and will assist you in finding how many people are searching for that keyword. If you don’t have a high number of people searching that keyword then it is not going to do you much good. Get rid of that keyword and keep 5 - 6 keywords to start with that have good search results.

2.) Research your keywords - Once you pick out your keywords go to a search engine, like google, and type in your Keywords one at a time. Check out how many websites you have to beet to get on the top of the page. At the beginning try to go with a search that has less the 2 million. You want to make sure the competition is not to steep to accomplish moving up on the search engines.

3.) Website Creation - Your website, capture page, and front page should all be optimized with your keywords in mind. Your page should be keyword rich, meaning your keyword or keyword phrase should be placed in your website several times for the search engine spiders to crawl. So as you are adding your content make sure that you through your keywords in their several times.

4.) Title tag and Meta tags - There is some controversy from mentors on the importance of Meta Tag Keywords or Meta tag description. I think the mentors teaching SEO classes are all in agreement that the title tag is important. I still find these tactics useful and suggest you to place them in your website. They will certainly not hurt your efforts in SEO. When creating your title tag you want to make sure that you include your Main keyword at the beginning of the title. For an example, if your business is Passport To Wealth , I would suggest using Passport To Wealth as your main keyword and placing that at the beginning of the title tag. Title tags are what you see at the top of the browser page. Keep this short and to the point attempting to get your keywords in at least once in the title. Do not make this long and have it make sense. Meta tag keywords place all your keywords in this section. Make sure to include your main keyword first, and separate each keyword with commas. Meta tag descriptions, I still see a large benefit to meta tag descriptions. Keep the main keyword at the beginning and write a intriguing sentence regarding your business or service. The Meta tags are under your title on the search engines so you want to make sure that it will catch visitors attention and prompt them to open your site and see your opportunity.

5.) Pictures - If you are using pictures make sure to name them your keywords and then place them in the websites. Search engines will read these keywords as they are spidering through it and give you a better optimization.

6.) Bolding and underlining keywords - It is suggested to be beneficial to underline or bold your keywords. There is some controversy on this as some says it holds no relevance. I have experienced a higher page rank just from adding this a couple of times in my website. Not only does it stand out for your customers but also the search engines. Don’t over do it, just a couple of times. The spiders are sensitive to this and if it is obvious they may spam your site. Just a couple of times is okay to get the desired effect.

7.) Properly used headers - Headers are important to search engine optimization. In SEO classes they teach the Headers stand out more then regular text with the spiders. If possible always have at least one Header at the top of the page with your keywords displayed. If you can include your main keyword first in the header it is said to bring higher points to your page.

8.) Show links to you other pages or sources - On the main page you should have links to other links, affiliate links, or subsequent pages. Hyper link them on you page either at the top or bottom. I don’t suggest doing them within your body. I have seen where search engines don’t like links going to irrelevant content with in your body. Try to keep the links at the top, left hand side, or bottom of your web page. Years ago they used to suggest creating squeeze pages, or gateway pages, which were websites keyword friendly. They didn’t make sense they just had to have some content for the search engines benefit only. I don’t suggest practicing this anymore, I would use real content when adding to your website.

9.) Browser detection - Be careful using this feature. Make sure that it does not break when the spiders or another agent may come through. The only way to get your website on the pages of the search engines is if the spiders can go through your website. Obviously if they can not get in, your website will not be spidered and displayed on the search engines.

10.) Get the right Domain Name: You url will hold some relevance in your search results. Spiders usually won’t spider through a URL with special character in it. In addition having a shorter domain name is good for your customer base. When questioning the creation of your domain name consider putting your main keyword in the domain.

In conclusion, it is a known factor that search engine optimization is a highly recognized as a way to increase traffic to you website. Entrepreneur’s, and Mentors have used these tactics for years. Testing and retesting what works as the search engines are forever changing how they spider our sites. The important thing to remember is that it does not stop with owning a website. Their are very specific steps that have to be accomplished in order to have the search engines recognize you. It is time consuming but the payoff and gratification when you accomplish the first page ranking is worth the hard work you may have invested in your SEO classes.

Google Adsense: 5 Rock Solid Tips to Make More Money

Filed under: General — admin @ 1:53 am

Google adsense is proving to be probably the number one method of making money on the internet. Visit nearly any website today and you will see an array of Google Adsense ads being displayed. But if youre interested in displaying Google Adsense ads on your website how can you be sure that you are making the most return from your website visitors.

Let me tell you my five top tips to increase your Google Adsense income.

Tip one.

Use articles on your website that are of interest to your targeted market. Original articles written by yourself are best, however if you are not keen on writing why not look at obtaining some Private Label Rights articles. Most important issue here being to modify the articles extensively to make them original to you and not risk duplicated content issues.

Tip two.

Keep your web page layout simple and donâ??t include links to other products or services, which could distract your visitors from clicking on your Google Adsense ads. Remember this strategy is to increase your Adsense revenue, if you want to promote an affiliate product design a webpage with just your product links on and remove any adsense ads.

Tip three.

Design your Adsense ads to blend in with the background colour of your webpage and also position them in the most profitable positions available. You can get a clear idea of this layout by clicking on my website link below.

Tip four.

Keep track of your visitors and the income they produce to your website, you can do this by creating a channel in the Google Adsense backoffice. Again remember, that if your website is not producing a decent income then you need to look at different subject matters, subjects of interest that people want to read more about and are willing to visit your website in order to read more.

Tip five.

Traffic generation is the real key to success and without visitors to your website you wont make any money. This fifth tip is a complete subject on its own and I will be producing further articles on this subject which you will be able to read by visiting my website below.

I will be adding regular articles on all these subjects and more over the next few days and months so it realy will be worth a visit to see what tips and ideas you can use to increase your Google Adsense income.

The 3 AdWords Success Tips That Will Make Your Campaigns Profitable

Filed under: General — admin @ 5:49 pm

Internet marketing is fiercely competitive, and you must be as aggressive as possible to ensure you reach your target market and convert prospective customers into customers. To ensure that your marketing campaign is aggressive and puts you ahead of the competition, implement as many methods as possible, including pay per click advertising like Google Adwords.

Before you kick off your Adwords campaign, however, ensure you have a thorough understanding of how Adwords works and of Google’s Terms and Conditions, so you know what you are and are not allowed to do.

There are three main Adwords success tips that you should follow when implementing your Adwords campaign. Implement these tips, and you’ll increase the amount of visitors you drive to your Web site.

Tip One: Be careful of how you bid on keywords

Keywords will be the backbone of your Adwords campaign. Identify the keywords and keyword phrases your target audience is likely to use when doing an online search. Bid on those keywords that your target market is likely to use. You don’t have to bid the highest amount. As long as your ad is on the first page, preferably in the second or third spot, you should receive plenty of traffic to your Web site.

Tip Two: Create a powerful landing page

Once your prospective customers click on your ad, you want them to go to a powerful landing page that converts them from a prospective customer into an actual customer. Your landing page should be rich with content that includes your main keywords and keyword phrases.

Your landing page can be one page or it can be a multi-page Web site. Most seasoned internet marketers recommend having a multi-page Web site that is rich with valuable content for which your target market is looking. Routinely add new content to your landing page or Web site, so prospective customers will make it a habit of returning again and again.

Include a sign-up box on your landing page, so prospective customers can opt-in to your list. In addition to promoting your service or product to your list, you must provide your list with valuable information time and again, whether through a weekly newsletter or a periodic podcast.

Tip Three: Test your ads

No matter what type of advertising campaign you’re running, you don’t just implement the campaign and forget about it. You must constantly test your Google ads to see which are performing well and which need to either be tweaked or pulled from the campaign.

Google makes it very easy for you to track the success of your individual ads. Those that are performing well, keep. For those that aren’t getting much traffic, either rework the ad or pull it altogether and replace it with another attention-grabbing ad.

Ultimately, running a successful Adwords campaign, while it takes work, can be an effective, easy process that will help drive traffic to your Web site. But, once your prospective customers click on your ad, it is up to you to provide them with an incentive - through valuable content, for example - to become a customer.

Importance Of Latent Semantic Indexing In SEO

Filed under: General — admin @ 9:44 am

For some time now search engines like Google and Yahoo have been employing Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) as part of their search results. Google started this back in 04.

While LSI is not a new search engine optimization topic, it is very important in developing relevancy for ranking, building out the long tail of search but now also for universal search.

What is LSI and how does it work?

Latent Semantic Indexing is a key component in how the search engines understand the “context” of website content. LSI is based on a concept called co-occurrence clustering of words and the association of documents based on the occurrence data.

In short, the search engines essentially learn what words mean based on the other words around them. This practice is particularly important in many languages as it is fairly common for words to have multiple meanings.

For example: let’s look at the word “shoes”.

At this point, you really don’t know what kind of shoes I am referring to.

If the surrounding text had content that described triathlons, marathons, jogging or features brands like Nike, Brooks and Saucony, now you know that shoes means running shoes.

However, if the surrounding text stated drums, pads, rotors, disc, and metallic or features brands like Raybestos and Bendix, now you know that shoes means brake shoes.

Of course, if the surrounding text stated hoofs, paddocks, stables, and horse stalls, now you know that shoes means horseshoes.

Having these other related words on a page helps the search engines understand the “context” of a given keyword and support the relevancy of the search result. Without these clarifying words, you do not know what kind of shoes will arrive in your search query. With these related words, now the search results are more relevant.

In addition, these related words helps build the long tail of search keywords. When keywords and content are developed appropriately, it is not uncommon to end up with several hundred to several thousand keywords. In fact, many of our clients often have but 25 keywords as part of their SEO campaign but 12 months later have 500-2,500 keyword combinations and permutations gathered via Google Analytics.

Now with universal search, LSI is even more important. The purpose of universal search is to help identify and refine search intent. Universal search is now associating different media types as products of the search result.

If you search for Hawaii Vacations, people expect to pictures if not video of a beach on Maui. Not only do you want to read a review of a specific tour, but you want to hear a podcast of that tour.

If you sell Plus Size Prom Dresses, people not only expect to see last years styles but this years styles. If you are looking for a prom dress, chances are you also need matching shoes, handbag, hair accessories, etc.

In addition to pictures, search engines like Google and Yahoo know that people that are interested in prom dresses also frequent social media or networking sites like YouTube, MySpace, FaceBook, MyYearbook, Imeem, Bebo and Flickr. As a result as a marketer, if you sell prom dresses, you should have a MySpace page geared for teenagers. Perhaps you should upload several prom music playlists on Imeem or post on their blog. Better still, create a Flickr account where you encourage teenagers to share their prom photos wearing the prom dress they bought at your store. This is another application of LSI where pages of related topics being linked together can strengthen or help define the “meaning” for phrases on the pages you want to get ranked.

External blogs are another application of LSI. Blog posts may link your home page, an interior page or even your blog. External blogs increase exposure to your website and reinforce the main theme and keywords.

LSI is as important as ever in search engine optimization. If you are interested in the math behind LSI, there are several sources. The Journal of Graph Algorithms and Applications has published a series of papers on LSI.

Others at universities like Penn State and the University of Colorado at Boulder have written some interesting papers and applications on this topic.

Business Marketing Online

Filed under: General — admin @ 1:40 am

Many people are starting Online Businesses, but learning on the fly, so to speak, how to get traffic to their sites. A big factor to be considered is how much will it cost to get the traffic to your web site. I recently wrote two articles, one about specific landing pages and the second about matching keywords to specific landing pages. This time I am going to cover the cost of each keyword. In other words how much should you pay for each phrase or keyword?

You can recognize the demand for online business by looking at the searches made on the search engines. They are phrases like business conferencing meeting online web, advertising business online web, business free online site web, online web business opportunity, business hosting online page web, online business web hosting and business create online site web opportunity just to mention a few.

There is much that is to be learned about this topic and I’m only going to scratch the surface in this article, but it should get you started off correctly. There are many factors to consider that can make a big difference in your profit.

You should ensure that you have a different landing page on your site for each area of you business. For example on my site I have a landing page for Work At Home, Top 10 business, Home Based Business, Moms Jobs, Affiliates, Data Entry, Online Paid Surveys and a link to my real time newsletter.

If you are utilizing one of the tools available to us called (PPC) Paid Per Click Advertising, whereby we pay a search engine pennies to show our ad when someone types in particular keyword. As I mentioned in my other article you must break up your keywords in such a manner as to have all of your keywords on a given topic sent to the specific landing page. For example you should have all Work At Home keywords go to your landing page, which is mostly about Work At Home ideas. Like wise have you keywords on Home Based Business go to the landing page that highlights Home Based Business Opportunities.

In addition you don’t want to bidding against your self so you want to make sure that you don’t mix and match your keywords. You will want to advertise only the keywords that match a specific landing page when using (PPC) Paid Per Click Advertising. Don’t have Work At Home keywords mixed in with Online Paid Surveys sending people to multiple landing Pages.

You will want to use multiple variation of a given keyword. Think about the conversation going on in your customer’s head. What would you type in if you were searching for the same thing? What would others type? Don’t just set you campaigns to run on a maximum price per click. Do some research to see how much a particular keyword is being searched for. If it is not one of the most popular decrease you bid amount. Once you have done this monitor it over a couple of weeks or a month so you can see if you getting the same amount of clicks. Search engines are not always going to give you the best price. Some of the big ones are pretty fair, but I want control of these things myself. Many of my keywords are half the price of some of the major ones. Before I learned this though, many search engines were charging me full price when it was not warranted.

Every subtle change in your website landing page, keywords, keyword bidding, no matter how minuscule, has an effect on your customer. I always recommend change, monitor, analyze, modify and keep continuing the process. Compare the new change to the old one so that you can see which landing page converts best.

Once you have had your website going for awhile there is always much more fine tuning to do.

Please feel free to read more of this article by visiting my link in the resource box below. I always enjoy getting emails pertaining to my articles or my site. Your feedback is important to me.

It costs nothing to follow this proven strategy. In fact, it will not only boost your Google campaign, it will also save you oodles of time!

HOT TIP: Here is one of the most powerful Google AdWords success secrets:

- Always split-test your ads: No matter what you do, you should always have at least two versions of your ads

- Always keep optimizing: This is where most people fail. Why?

First of all, many Google AdWords users run out of ideas of what to test.

Secondly, most Google AdWords users don’t know when it’s time to go back to further optimize their AdWords campaign. And if you don’t know, you’ll probably forget because you don’t have the time to keep checking your AdWords account.

There is a free, automatic AdWords optimizer tool out there (this tool is NOT from Google), which automates the testing of your different ad versions. Then it lets you know by email when you have a winning ad. That’s when it’s time to make an adjustment to your losing ad and then run another split-test.

How does free tool, which is NOT from Google, help?

If testing is a slow and painful process, you’ll just stop. And you might miss out on lots of ‘accidents’ where you try something and suddenly stumble upon an ad that does 100% better than before.

These fortunate ‘accidents’ happen to us all the time in our own campaigns.

Here’s one example;

Testing something very small in an ad for meditation techniques (the number of minutes mentioned in the ad text - “15 min” vs. “5 min”, etc.) had a huge impact on the Click-Through-Rate (CTR) and on the Conversion Rate (CR) of this ad group.

Ad Version 1;

How To Do Meditation

Did You Know That Meditating Just

15 Min a Day Could Change Your Life?

Ad Version 2;

How To Do Meditation

Did You Know That Meditating Just

5 Min a Day Could Change Your Life?

Can you see the difference? The only text that is different is the number of minutes.

The ad mentioning “15 minutes” had a CTR and Conversion Rate double the ad version that mentioned, “5 minutes”!

Could we have ever guessed that “15 minutes” would do 100% better than “5 minutes”?

No way!

Could we have ever guessed that “5 minutes” would lower the Conversion Rate by 50%?

No way!

The only way we discovered this huge boost was from using the free optimizer tool mentioned below. Here are some additional tips to make it far easier to keep improving your Google AdWords account;

- Keep reading resources like this, and

- Keep reading ads on Google to keep getting new ideas of things you can test
